About the event
Veteran Group Hike - Castle Peak & Basin Peak
Our Castle Peak and Basin Peak day hike will be a fun and engaging semi challenging hike with incredible views of the Northern Sierra. Starting at the Castle Peak Trailhead near Donner Pass, we will head north along the Pacific Crest Trail toward Castle Pass before making our way up to Castle Peak. From there, we will do a fun ridge crossing over to Basin Peak before circling back around to the trailhead.

What to Expect:
Distance: 8.5 miles round trip
Elevation gain: 2,000 ft
Difficulty: Moderate to Difficult
Time: 6+ hours
What to Bring:
Snacks/Food
Chair or Hammock to relax if you want
Plenty of water
Sunscreen
Sun protection
Bug spray
Proper hiking shoes (trail can be rocky and uneven)
Comfortable hiking clothes (layers recommended)
Other hiking stuff
Expect beautiful views, exposed ridgelines, mountain terrain, and a really fun day out on the trail.
