On this hike we will be on the coastal trail passing some cool lakes and eventually make our way to a beautiful waterfall. We will time this hike with low tide so we can access the falls along the beach. Plan on starting the hike around 10:30 on 3/9.

About the event

This hike will be a moderate to hard hike along the coastal trails. Check out this AllTrails link to learn more about the area. We will work our way up the coast, passing some lakes and eventually getting to the beach, at low tide we will traverse the beach to the waterfall. This will be a hard but super rewarding hike!

Alamere Falls is a tidefall waterfall that flows into the Pacific Ocean. This quintessential Marin County hike is located in Point Reyes National Seashore, northwest of San Francisco. The hike to Alamere Falls can be started from the Coast Trail via the Palomarin Trailhead. The parking lot can be accessed at the end of Mesa Road outside of Bolinas. Be sure to arrive early on weekends as this lot fills up quickly. The trail offers great ocean views, including scenes of the Farallon Islands on a clear day as well as Bass Lake, Pelican Lake, Ocean Lake, and Wildcat Lake.
