MTB - Veteran Group Ride - Sly Park
Join us for this Veteran Group Mountain Bike Ride in Sly Park Recreation Area near Pollock Pines. We'll ride the Fleming Meadow / 8-mile Loop Trail and other downhill trails in the area.

About the event
We are excited to establish a group of local Veteran Mountain Bikers (and future MTBers) here in Northern California. Whether its easy Group Rides, Multi-Day Bike Trips, or Enduro Races, we encourage Veterans to get out on a Mountain Bike. At D2R we are always talking about what the benefits of being outdoors has on our Mental and Physical Health and research has shown a strong connection between time spent with peers in nature and reduced stress, anxiety, and depression. All you have to do is google "benefits of mountain biking" and we are sure you will be sold on getting out on a bike. Learn more about the Disconnect to Reconnect Mission here!
- Meet at 8am at Parking Lot off of Mormon Emigrant Trail and Bonetti Road. Map shows Fleming Trail System & Trailhead
- We will ride Fleming Loop trail and the other Downhill trails in the area.
- Expect some climbing.
- Bring Your Own Bike.
- BIKE SPECIFIC HELMETS MUST BE WORN. Other Safety equipment is recommended like Gloves, Knee Pads, Glasses.
- It's OK if you are not in shape. No one is. lol. The purpose is to get outdoors not get a KOM score. We will take it easy.
If you would like to join but do not have a bike, please reach out to Casey to see if there is an option to get you a bike to use. There are always options like renting from local bike shop or borrowing from friends or family.
