About the event
The Park is located 2 miles west of downtown Truckee on Donner Pass Rd. which runs along the North Shore of Donner Lake and becomes Old Hwy 40.
When entering Truckee from Hwy 80, exit 184 and turn right onto Donner Pass Rd at the stop sign. Continue 1/8 mile and turn left into the entrance and look for your guide by the kiosk. An $10 parking fee is required by the State Park.
Arrive by 0830 to get a parking spot and to get gear.

What To Bring:
Lightweight base layers or long johns. NO COTTON!
Comfortable water proof hiking boots or winter boots with Wool socks (for warmth and extra padding). Again, no cotton
Long sleeve layer/shirt. Wool, Fleece or other synthetic clothing is best
A ski jacket or other water proof shell
Ski pants or other water resistant pants
Sun Screen (SPF 30 or higher)
A hat with a brim
A warm ski hat or beanie (wool or fleece)
2 pairs ski gloves or equivalent (in case one gets wet)
Extra top and bottom layer for cold days or to change into after tour
Sunglasses or Goggles if Snowing
Full reusable water bottle
Recommended items:
A small backpack or hip pack to carry your things
Camera (protective case and lanyard)
